Southwest CDC strives to increase the knowledge of the negative impact of drugs, alcohol and violence on the family and our community. The goal is to empower people by education, recreation and support services.
In partnership with Philadelphia Health Management Corp. (PHMC), Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS) and the John Patterson Elementary School, Southwest CDC offers after school programming for students attending John Patterson Elementary School including:
- Homework Support
- Recreational Activities
- Educational Lessons
- Family Night Activities
- Project-Based Learning Projects
- Too Good For Drugs program
- Wanna Bet gambling prevention program
Southwest CDC also offers a summer camp for all neighborhood children. Programs include arts and crafts, games, dance, educational programs, and field trips.
